About the Role
This role manages key retail accounts, including Costco and Dick's Sporting Goods, while seeking new growth opportunities. The position is supported by CSRs for order entry, inventory, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed annual sales targets.
- Optimize placement and increase sales of Merrithew™ brands on specified Retail partner E-Commerce platforms.
- Engage with current buyers to understand their business, identify sales opportunities, and explore cross-channel sales.
- Collaborate with Senior Sales Director on annual projections and growth strategies.
- Analyze product sell-through, pull monthly sales reports, and oversee inventory management.
- Visit key buyers and secure in-store product placement as appropriate.
- Create and implement monthly and event-specific promotions for all partners.
- Notify partners of new releases and discontinued items.
- Manage sales, growth, order entry, returns, and credit memos for select direct retail accounts.
- Participate in vendor partner training programs.
- Ensure smooth introduction of new accounts to functional teams.
- Update Senior Sales Director on account activity and escalate issues as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date account/lead information in CRM.
- Follow up on assigned leads in CRM and those received via email.
- Participate in tradeshows and follow up on leads.
- Conduct research to identify new channel-specific opportunities.
- Assist with deal memos, contract negotiations, pricing, EDI setup, and logistical issues for new accounts.
- Assist with market research and competitive data analysis.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education.
- 2 years of sales experience, including e-commerce/online sales and customer service with key retail accounts.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Knowledge of CRM and SAGE.
- Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy.
- Superior organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrating a sense of urgency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
- Intermediate MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and presentation proficiency.
