Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead Generation Integration and load Interconnection studies within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) footprint.
  • Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.
  • Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, and interconnection analysis.
  • Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, Wind.
  • Perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies.
  • Contribute to the organization's knowledge base and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and conferences on engineering and technical issues and report key findings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
  • Proven team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters.
  • Strong customer focus, both internal and external.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks, projects and resources.
