About the Role

As Principal Product Manager, you will tackle the most challenging and high-stakes problems within the Marketplace, including cross-cutting issues that define its future direction. You will establish strategy for your area and influence beyond it, collaborating with other teams. This is a hands-on role requiring deep engagement with your team on a daily basis. A key aspect of the job involves interpreting customer and market signals to inform future product decisions. You will report to the Director of Product.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex, cross-cutting Marketplace problems from conception through launch and iteration, driving customer and business outcomes.
  • Define strategy and roadmap for your area, justifying key product decisions.
  • Address ambiguous problems before they are fully defined, framing them for parallel team execution and setting build direction.
  • Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and data science for product delivery, and partner with research and analytics to understand customer behavior.
  • Build company-wide buy-in and collaborate with partners and adjacent teams (B2C and B2B).
  • Elevate the standard of product development practices.
  • Utilize experimentation for rapid learning and iteration.
  • Develop a clear perspective on integrating AI into the Marketplace for personalized guidance and trusted financial experiences.
  • Leverage AI as a collaborative tool to enhance product quality and team efficiency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including consumer apps, with a proven track record of successfully shipping and scaling complex, ambiguous problems.
  • Strong understanding of user experience and quality standards for consumers, with the judgment to advocate for them.
  • Proficiency in using data to identify problems, quantify opportunities, and inform decisions, while recognizing data limitations.
  • An experimentation mindset focused on testing hypotheses over debating them.
  • Ability to drive work across teams without direct ownership.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI into personal workflows and a defined perspective on its product application.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build consensus across teams.
