About the Role

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Bridge Team in Albany, NY. This role supports water resources tasks on bridge engineering projects, contributing to hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for critical transportation infrastructure. You will gain hands-on project experience, receive mentorship, and build skills for career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for bridge projects.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates.
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for bridge safety and durability.
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in bridge design, evaluation, and inspection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team.
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus.

Skills

  • Strong theoretical foundation.
  • Familiarity with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
