About the Role
The Story with Martha MacCallum is seeking a skilled, experienced, and eager Producer. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a superb writer, and excellent under pressure. This role involves executing segment leads, writing live scripts during breaking news, and conducting in-depth research. The Producer will also serve as a backup to the Line Producer and Senior Producer on occasion.
Responsibilities
- Pitch guests, stories, and segment ideas
- Write guest intros, anchor questions, and teases
- Select elements such as sound, video clips, and graphics to tell a story
- Build accurate and constantly evolving research packets
Requirements
- Professional experience in a live television control room
- Strong and accurate writing
- Line producing training
- Thorough knowledge of current events and politics
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
Salary/Compensations
- $83,000.00-98,000.00 annually
