About the Role
We are seeking a versatile and motivated advisor with a strong knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and land management concepts to support Alto's Real Estate team. This role involves contributing to strategy, process, and partnership development, coordinating GIS, technology, and data needs with Alto's private development partner, and managing the stewardship, governance, integration, and quality of geospatial and land data.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Alto's Real Estate team and the Director, Real Estate Business Solutions to understand business processes and operational requirements, translating them into concrete technical and geospatial deliverables.
- Partner with the private development partner to oversee the development and implementation of the project's GIS platform and databases, ensuring seamless integration of georeferenced data with other partner tools and systems.
- Work closely with Alto's GIS team to develop systems and standards that optimize GIS technology efficiency and performance for real estate activities.
- Coordinate information sharing and control mechanisms with partner organizations regarding land matters, and monitor land acquisition activities and progress.
- Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and presentations for various project stakeholders, including internal and external parties and regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in geomatics, surveying, information technology, real estate, urban planning, civil engineering, geography, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in using or maintaining GIS platforms, data models, and databases, as well as in preparing reports and conducting spatial analyses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders or senior management.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work independently to meet deliverable deadlines while contributing to project objectives.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS (Pro 3.x, Enterprise 11.x) and/or other GIS platforms.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools, such as Python, Safe Software FME Form and FME Flow, is considered an asset.
- Experience integrating GIS solutions with enterprise applications using REST APIs and with stakeholder management, land management, or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, such as Borealis, is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in writing and presenting strategic and administrative reports, as well as detailed technical documentation.
- Proficiency in French and English (Canada's official languages) is considered an asset.
