About the Role
Snorkel is seeking an IT Platform & Automation Engineer to architect and manage internal infrastructure, acting as the connective tissue between office networks, collaboration services, security, and core business systems. This role prioritizes automation and coding over traditional IT support tasks.
Responsibilities
- Own Identity & Access Management, implementing and automating SSO, MFA, and SCIM provisioning.
- Enforce zero-trust principles across all systems.
- Own the Endpoint Lifecycle, automating device provisioning, configuration, and secure deployment.
- Build zero-touch onboarding workflows for endpoints.
- Design, deploy, and maintain high-availability office networking and secure remote access solutions.
- Architect and build custom integrations between core SaaS stack using APIs.
- Own the internal automation layer, replacing low-code tools with custom code (Python).
- Build and maintain internal dashboards and Slack apps for employee self-service.
- Review and assess AI connectors, build API wrappers and prompt engineering pipelines for LLMs.
- Dedicate time each sprint to experiment with new AI models.
- Write scripts to automate security monitoring, endpoint patch management, and compliance reporting.
- Architect centralized alerting pipelines by integrating EDR/SIEM webhooks.
- Create automated audit trails, access reviews, and reporting for compliance.
Requirements
- 4+ years in IT Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Platform roles with a heavy emphasis on automation and APIs.
- Advanced Python or JavaScript/Node.js proficiency, treating scripts like software (git, CI/CD, testing, documentation).
- Proven experience building custom integrations using REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Okta or Azure AD (SCIM, Workflows, automation).
- Hands-on experience with at least one MDM solution (Jamf and Intune).
- Understanding of least privilege, automated patching, and security in integrations.
- Experience with Okta, People Tech (Rippling and Greenhouse), Notion, or Slack APIs.
- Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI) for internal tools.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Experience preparing IT systems for SOC2 or ISO 27001 audits.
- Experience with Google Workspace administration and GAM.
- Experience with zero-touch deployment workflows (Apple Business Manager, Windows Autopilot).
