Responsibilities
- Helps patients understand their care
- Coordinates appointments and follow-up
- Advocates for patient needs
- Removes obstacles to accessing healthcare
- Connects patients with resources
- Supports patients emotionally and administratively
- Ensures communication among all care team members
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing appointment software
- Handling patient inquiries, billing, and insurance verification
- Recording patient information in medical records
- Preparing patients for examinations or treatments
- Taking and recording patients' medical histories and vital signs
- Assisting physicians during physical examinations
- Collecting samples for laboratory test
- Performing basic laboratory tests and preparing specimens
Requirements
- Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital orientation
Skills
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Bilingual preferred
- Knowledge of Computer Technology preferred
