About the Role

The main purpose of this role is the preparation of vehicles for London hire, inspection of new vehicles to site, and general duties in connection with the London Hire Fleet of vehicles. Ensure all vehicles are thoroughly prepared for ongoing rental in terms of cleanliness, levels, and tyre pressures, paying attention to any pre or post rental damage as part of the quality inspection process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for customer delivery, ensuring correct documentation, cleanliness, and checking for defects and safety equipment.
• Check in new vehicles by verifying documentation and compliance with specifications.
• Check in and inspect vehicles returned from hire.
• Record vehicle collections and returns in the daily diary and complete documentation, working to set timeframes.
• Perform minor repairs and visual checks on fluid levels and tyres.
• Clean vehicles as required prior to delivery.
• Liaise with visiting contractors regarding site safety rules.
• Arrange for defective equipment to be repaired.
• Use and maintain issued equipment in accordance with instructions, Health and Safety rules and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle yard, ensure it is tidied daily, and remove debris.
• Report any defects or health and safety issues in the vehicle yard to a Manager, completing a site defect report.
• Carry out daily checks of equipment to ensure it is working correctly, log defects, and arrange for repairs.
• Compile a weekly yard list of vehicles for the Yard Supervisor.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver world-class customer service.
• Self-motivation with the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task.
