About the Role

Join The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler as a Full-Time Positive Supports Professional and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral health challenges. This onsite position in Elmira offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in an energetic and professional environment. Responsibilities

Support individuals facing behavioral health challenges by collaborating with them and their support systems to develop and implement therapeutic interventions.
Utilize a humanistic and positive psychology approach to tailor interventions that align with each individual's unique interests and personal goals.
Empower clients to manage their challenges effectively, fostering growth and resilience.
Create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their aspirations.
Promote a positive, person-centered approach that makes a real difference in the lives of those served.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
At least four years of relevant experience.
Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or another Human Services Field is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills necessary for building effective relationships with individuals and their support systems, fostering trust and open communication.
Deep understanding of behavioral health challenges.
Experience in therapeutic intervention techniques.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools for tracking progress and documenting interventions.
Problem-solving abilities and adaptability are key.
Commitment to a humanistic and positive psychology approach.
