About the Role
Join The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler as a Full-Time Positive Supports Professional and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and behavioral health challenges. Responsibilities
- Support individuals facing behavioral health challenges by collaborating with them and their support systems to develop and implement therapeutic interventions.
- Utilize a humanistic and positive psychology approach to tailor interventions that align with each individual's unique interests and personal goals.
- Empower clients to manage their challenges effectively, fostering growth and resilience.
- Create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their aspirations.
- Promote a positive, person-centered approach that makes a real difference in the lives of those served.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- At least four years of relevant experience.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or another Human Services Field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary for building effective relationships with individuals and their support systems, fostering trust and open communication.
- Deep understanding of behavioral health challenges.
- Experience in therapeutic intervention techniques.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for tracking progress and documenting interventions.
- Problem-solving abilities and adaptability are key.
- Commitment to a humanistic and positive psychology approach.
