About the Role
As a Prep Cook at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in our Inflight catering team, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality meals for airline clients. Your main responsibility will be to assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients, ensuring they are ready for cooking and assembly.
Responsibilities
- Cuts and portions different types of meat according to specifications
- Cuts and portions different types of cheese according to specifications
- Cuts and portions different types of fruits and vegetables according to specifications
- Read and follow dnata Catering recipes correctly and provide correct proportions.
- Comply with all HACCP/GMP and dnata catering sanitation and proper food handling policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to measure and prepare ingredients
- Assist in the proper storage and rotation of ingredients
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Support the production of high-quality meals by assisting in cooking, baking, and assembling dishes as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in a high-volume food service
- Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent
- A reliable, quality-conscious, safe worker.
- Culinary knowledge of terms, procedures, and practices.
- Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team.
- HACCP knowledge.
- Excellent attention to detail and self-organized
- Ability to accurately monitor wastage.
- Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment without current or future sponsorship from dnata Catering USA.
