About the Role

As a Prep Cook at dnata Catering, you will play a vital role in our Inflight catering team, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of high-quality meals for airline clients. Your main responsibility will be to assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients, ensuring they are ready for cooking and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and portions different types of meat according to specifications
• Cuts and portions different types of cheese according to specifications
• Cuts and portions different types of fruits and vegetables according to specifications
• Read and follow dnata Catering recipes correctly and provide correct proportions.
• Comply with all HACCP/GMP and dnata catering sanitation and proper food handling policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of ingredients
• Follow recipes and portion guidelines to measure and prepare ingredients
• Assist in the proper storage and rotation of ingredients
• Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
• Support the production of high-quality meals by assisting in cooking, baking, and assembling dishes as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in a high-volume food service
• Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent
• A reliable, quality-conscious, safe worker.
• Culinary knowledge of terms, procedures, and practices.
• Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a team.
• HACCP knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and self-organized
• Ability to accurately monitor wastage.
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.
• Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout employment without current or future sponsorship from dnata Catering USA.
