About the Role
EDC Investments is seeking candidates to join the Portfolio Management & Impact Analytics team. This new function will optimize market engagement, investment management, impact strategies, and capital management by mobilizing data and systems. The successful candidates will play a key role in shaping and forming this team.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with partners and investment professionals to embed data-driven methodologies that brings measurable enhancement to the performance on sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio value creation
- Contribute to the management of the Investments portfolio including: monitoring the performance of portfolio investments risk and performance analytics, forecasting and reconciliation between various financial reporting systems
- Enable the ongoing assessment and valuation of individual investments which includes maintaining relationships with the leads of portfolio investments to provide or coordinate value added support to their growth strategies
- Deliver actionable insights through improved forecasting and program-level reporting and analytics to track effectiveness of capital and value creation strategies
- Data and technology enthusiasts, whom build reports, dashboards, AI prompts and analytics to deliver data centric optimizations to the risk program
- Support enhancements to governance, systems and operations by leading special projects to redefine processes, reports, and/or operations
- Be a key resource to all the individuals on the Investments Team, as well as liaison with the Technology, Risk, Finance and Corporate Reporting Teams
- Demonstrate Teamwork - Works collaboratively and effectively with EDC customers and all internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within the private equity, corporate or venture capital investing industry, with a demonstrated track record of portfolio performance accountability, advanced analytics, and systems innovation (Associate Role)
- A minimum 5 years of relevant experience within the private equity, corporate or venture capital investing industry, with a demonstrated track record of portfolio performance accountability, advanced analytics, and systems innovation (Sr. Associate Role)
- Experience at an institutional investor or pension fund
- Expertise in equity systems and data platforms (e.g. Preqin, Capital IQ, Pitchbook, eFront, Burgiss)
- Must be able to work legally in Canada at the time of application (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents)
- Must meet the requisite government security screening requirements
Skills
- Strong communication, collaboration and teamwork skills with the credibility to engage investment, risk and finance professionals
- Ability to bridge communication between technical, finance, risk and investment teams
- In-depth investment analytics, portfolio construction and capital modelling expertise
- Data driven acumen, supported by emerging technologies and AI
- Solid understanding of investment accounting principles and concepts
- Strong technical and data acumen, including advance excel, querying, dashboarding (e.g. powerBI) and AI skillset

Salary/Compensations
- Associate Position (Performance Risk Manager 16): Salaries typically range from $74,297 to $99,063 annually
- Senior Associate (Performance Risk Manager 18): Salaries typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 annually
