About the Role

Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with partners and investment professionals to integrate data-driven methods that yield measurable improvements in sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio value creation.
- Contribute to the management of the investment portfolio, including monitoring investment portfolio performance, analyzing risks and performance, forecasting, and reconciling across financial information systems.
- Oversee the ongoing valuation and assessment of individual investments, which involves maintaining relationships with portfolio investment leads to provide or coordinate value-added support for their growth strategies.
- Provide actionable insights by enhancing forecasts, analysis, and program reporting to track the effectiveness of capital and value creation strategies.
- Act as enthusiastic data and technology team members who develop reports, dashboards, AI queries, and analyses to drive data-informed optimizations to the risk management program.
- Support the enhancement of governance, systems, and operations by leading special projects aimed at redefining processes, reporting, and operations.
- Serve as key resources to Investment Team members and act as liaisons with Technology, Risk Management, Finance, and Corporate Reporting Teams.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with EDC clients and diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant private equity, venture capital, or corporate investment experience.
- Proven ability in portfolio performance oversight, in-depth analysis, and systems innovation.
- At least 5 years of relevant private equity, venture capital, or corporate investment experience (for Senior Associate/Principal role).
- Proven ability in portfolio performance oversight, in-depth analysis, and systems innovation (for Senior Associate/Principal role).
- Must meet government security screening requirements.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application.
Skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Sufficient credibility to interact with investment, risk, and finance professionals.
- Ability to foster communication between technical, finance, risk management, and investment teams.
- In-depth expertise in investment analysis, portfolio construction, and capital modeling.
- Data savviness, supported by emerging technologies and AI.
- Strong grasp of investment accounting principles and concepts.
- Strong technical and data skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel, querying, dashboard creation (e.g., Power BI), and AI.

Salary/Compensations
- Associate (Performance Risk Manager 16): $74,297 - $99,063 plus performance compensation.
- Senior Associate/Principal (Performance Risk Manager 18): $96,557 - $128,743 plus performance compensation.
