About the Role

Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and enforcing professional and ethical standards for the facility's medical services, aligning with its policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives. This role assists the Administrative Director in ensuring regulatory compliance and coordinates patient care in unison with administrative and clinic directors.

Responsibilities

• Supports the facility's mission, values, goals, and objectives.
• Performs in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.
• Follows the facility's standards for ethical business conduct.
• Conducts self as a positive role model and team member.
• Respects patients' rights to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• Participates in facility committees, meetings, in-services, and activities.
• Provides direct services to clients in the Opioid Treatment Program, including physical examinations, medication induction, diagnostic testing, and assessments.
• Oversees medical issues of day-to-day operations.
• Ensures the establishment, maintenance, improvement, and enforcement of professional and ethical standards for medical staff and patient care personnel.
• Reports to the Administrative Director regarding the quality and efficiency of medical care provided.
• Maintains open communication with the Administrative Director and Clinic Director.
• Supports administrative decisions and activities affecting patient care.
• Interprets and provides guidance on facility medical policies to enhance patient care.
• Participates in continuing education and other learning experiences.
• Participates in facility teaching programs for employees and medical staff.
• Maintains membership in relevant professional organizations.

Requirements

• Licensed and currently registered by the NYS Education Department.
• Minimum of five (5) years of education, training, and/or experience in substance use disorder services.
• Must hold a subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties, an addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine, a certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM), or hold a subspecialty board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Association.
• Must possess a current DEA Certificate.
• Must possess a federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine-certified).
• Must maintain credentialing requirements, including continuing medical education units.
• Must possess ACLS or Advanced Life Support.
• Proficiency in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel, and customized databases.
• Employee must pass all background screenings as per Hospital policy.
