About the Role

The Restaurant Supervisor assists the Food and Beverage Manager in ensuring high-quality service, managing costs, and driving sales revenue beyond budget. This role requires dedication to completing job responsibilities efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with all company standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
  • Understand the organization and functions of all departments.
  • Assist in maintaining food and beverage costs.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, seeking input and motivating them.
  • Monitor and reconcile server cash overages and shortages.
  • Maintain service standards through quality control and coaching.
  • Address accidents, problems, or guest complaints in the Food and Beverage Department promptly.
  • Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures and equipment locations.
  • Implement consistent disciplinary actions for all Food and Beverage employees.
  • Operate the hotel's P.O.S. system.
  • Ensure staff are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests and colleagues.
  • Assist in preparing wage progress and productivity reports for the department.
  • Create staff schedules based on business forecasts, adhering to wage controls and service standards.
  • Conduct monthly food and beverage inventories and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all side work duties are completed by servers.
  • Contribute to developing promotional ideas.
  • Assist in planning and organizing monthly department meetings.
  • Promote sales efforts among service personnel.
  • Support employee performance appraisals.
  • Collaborate on maintaining and improving food quality and presentation.
  • Attend weekly Food and Beverage meetings, daily pre-meal meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to show initiative in job performance and anticipate needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Ability to handle workplace problems effectively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from various sources and adjust to meet specific needs.
  • Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns and issues from colleagues and guests.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.
