About the Role

Fitch Ratings' Energy and Power, Corporate, Infrastructure and Project Finance Group is seeking a senior credit analyst to focus on the analysis, execution, and rating of infrastructure and project finance transactions, particularly those related to energy and power infrastructure assets in the US and Canada. This role offers the opportunity to shape strategic direction, lead analysis on cutting-edge transactions, and contribute to a growing credit team in the dynamic infrastructure space.

Responsibilities

  • Work on leading ratings analysis, execution and research on new and existing North American transactions.
  • Evaluate innovative credit structures and participate in global criteria development.
  • Identify relevant trends, assess their credit impact, and highlight these trends in updated industry and market focused reports/presentations.
  • Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data and legal documents for the purpose of producing ratings, publishing credit reports, and contributing to special research reports.
  • Maintain a strong external network and profile by representing Fitch at industry conferences, webinars, issuer meetings/site visits, and through media communication.
  • Develop and grow strong relationships with other analytical groups at Fitch to ensure analytical consistency and efficient transaction execution.
  • Mentor junior members of the Energy and Power Infrastructure team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of solid project finance related experience in energy and power infrastructure, including development of credit or underwriting approach.
  • Proven project finance and infrastructure credit skills gained in a bank credit department, a rating agency, or buy-side credit department.
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills.
  • An open mind to think expansively about the opportunity and risk in the evolving infrastructure landscape.
  • Excellent modelling skills and thorough familiarity with spreadsheet-based financial models.
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and their advisers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as required.
