About the Role
The Warehouse Laborer is responsible for all inventory, shipping, receiving, staging, and other warehouse-related functions. This individual must accurately enter and retrieve data from the computer and communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and external contacts.
Responsibilities
- Pass all DOT HAZMAT training requirements.
- Obtain forklift certification.
- Receive all material into SAP, including returns, raw materials, and packaging materials, from various locations.
- Facilitate raw materials for department productions.
- Distribute paperwork to ensure timely release of materials.
- Ensure all raw materials are sampled and stored according to plant GMP's/SOP's and safety procedures.
- Accurately enter bin transfers and retrieve data from the computer system.
- Enter all incoming material in the receiving Excel worksheet.
- Coordinate and prioritize work in the absence of the warehouse supervisor.
- Perform inventory counts accurately.
- Accomplish order checking, label making, UPS and FEDEX shipping, and coordinate finished product/raw material transfers from outside warehouses.
Requirements
- Good working knowledge of math.
- Full understanding of inventory control, counting procedures, products, and movement.
- Ability to obtain a working knowledge of computer systems (MAPICS, Windows, Outlook, Excel, Email) or be trained within the probationary period.
- Ability to write clearly and legibly.
- Good mental and physical condition.
- Ability to communicate well in a professional manner, possess excellent phone skills, read and understand written instructions.
- Flexibility in adjusting work schedule and ability to work overtime when required.
- Organized, neat, clean, and consistent.
- Minimum of 2-3 years warehousing experience.
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and ability to use common sense and make decisions using sound judgment.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (scanner, copier, fax machine, calculator).
