About the Role
Premier Truck Group is seeking a Parts Counter Sales professional to join their team. This role focuses on delivering the best employee experience, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service, aiming to be the employer of choice.
Responsibilities
- Assist retail customers in selecting parts, suggest related items, and inform them of specials and available options.
- Retrieve parts from inventory or determine availability, prepare requisitions, and submit orders if parts are not in stock.
- Maintain accurate records of special-order parts.
- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Order parts not in stock for required repairs according to company policies.
- Follow up on special-ordered items and notify service drive employees upon receipt.
- Obtain credit authorization as required and in accordance with company policies.
- Process all sales (cash, credit, charge, purchase order, invoice, tax-exempt) according to company policies.
- Issue credit for returned parts in accordance with company policies.
- Display parts attractively to generate sales.
- Replenish assigned inventory daily.
- Maintain inventory on shelves and in bins by reporting items needing reorder, identifying discrepancies, and returning unsold items to stock.
- Advise Parts Manager of inventory discrepancies and department condition.
- Assist in maintaining a balanced inventory for service, body shop, wholesale accounts, and retail customers.
- Provide recommendations on pricing to ensure sufficient gross profit and customer loyalty.
- Assist in inventory control to achieve maximum turnover.
- Monitor and recommend adjustments to inventory to minimize obsolescence.
- Ensure all parts are tagged for factory credit recovery.
- Conduct inventory control activities and audits as directed.
- Provide high-quality service to internal dealership customers.
- Work with service drive employees to ensure timely turnaround of parts for jobs.
- Maintain delivery vehicles for the delivery program.
- Deliver parts as requested.
- Follow up on customer concerns and complaints promptly.
- Escalate complaints to the Parts Department Manager as needed.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with other service drive departments and the sales department.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with retail and wholesale customers to encourage repeat business.
- Complete all documents, forms, and reports according to company policy.
- Use proper safety equipment and act in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Stay informed about new equipment and tools and recommend purchases.
- Ensure work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.
- Follow all attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards.
- Adhere to the Company Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.
- Understand and follow all work rules and supervisor directions.
- Uphold company non-disclosure and confidentiality policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Attend pertinent training and company meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills.
- 2 years' experience in a truck/Car dealership environment (preferably in counter sales).
- High school diploma or equivalent and one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
