About the Role
The Mission Control team builds core infrastructure for processing and distributing podcasts and creator content. This role focuses on evolving the Distribution API, a platform enabling creators and partners to manage, distribute, and monetize their content on Spotify and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve backend systems for large-scale creator content processing and distribution.
- Expand the platform to support new content formats and distribution standards.
- Lead cross-functional technical initiatives, translating ambiguous problems into scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to evolve platform architecture, simplifying systems and removing bottlenecks.
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive improvements for system resilience and operability.
Requirements
- Professional experience building backend systems with strong Java experience.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like GCP or AWS.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
- Understanding of platform and distributed systems.
- Experience building APIs or services that operate at scale.
- Highly adaptable and eager to learn new technologies.
- Comfortable using AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Claude) in the development workflow.
- Thrive in fast-moving environments and handle change with ease.
- Communicate clearly with teammates and external partners.
