About the Role

The Mary Cariola Center is committed to fostering an environment where all individuals feel a sense of belonging, and our differences are respected and valued. This role is crucial in supporting residents' development and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly data sheets and calculate/graph behavior data as directed.
• Prepare data for resident case reviews and safety meetings.
• Set up new data and/or baseline sheets per instruction.
• Assist in training new staff on Behavior Support Plans, data collecting systems, and implementation guidelines.
• Obtain and maintain Train-The-Trainer certification in SCIP-r and perform trainings.
• Facilitate improved gross motor, fine motor, and range of motion skills.
• Promote and facilitate self-care and personal hygiene.
• Assist residents with bathing, toileting, dressing, and eating, including modeling appropriate behavior and using therapeutic equipment.
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
• Foster receptive and expressive communication through various methods, including sign language, pictograms, and electronic devices.
• Accurately and consistently complete all required documentation using PrecisionCare software and written forms.
• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, case reviews, and in-service sessions.
• Implement fire, safety, and emergency procedures, assisting with fire drills.
• Administer medications to residents in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, including interpreting documents such as safety rules and policy and procedure manuals.
• Possess a current and valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED.
