About the Role

This role serves as a front-facing major gift officer in the Region, responsible for mission integration, philanthropy, and donor cultivation of individual philanthropists and family foundations capable of giving $10k-$50k within California.

Responsibilities

• Support mission-centered, local donor cultivation events and prospect high impact donors for regional and national stewardship activities.
• Partner with the Philanthropy Director and the Education, Services and Health Research department to communicate the Blood Cancer United mission, programs, resources, and priorities effectively.
• Identify and qualify individual and foundation donor leads and manage a major gift portfolio of prospects capable of giving $10k-$50k+.
• Create and implement a moves management plan for donors and prospects, including donor stewardship strategies and activities.
• Develop a re-engagement strategy for lapsed major gift donors.
• Lead monthly-quarterly region Philanthropy prospecting sessions to identify major gift leads.
• Support donor cultivation events and other donor engagement activities within the Region.
• Engage region donors and volunteer leaders capable of giving $10k-$50k+ for individual major giving.
• Cultivate relationships with key prospects within the designated Region.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the Blood Cancer United mission and programs to promote Organizational initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to make public presentations.
• Local travel up to 30%.
• Required to work occasional nights and weekends.
