About the Role
The Lead People Relations Partner is responsible for shaping and implementing people strategies and delivering people changes across the business. This role is a key member of the People Strategy leadership team, responsible for organizational change, business partnering, and employee relations for Canada Life LUK across all geographies. The role holder will lead key strategic initiatives, drive enterprise-wide people activities, and ensure the People function meets its objectives while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership teams to shape and plan a commercially focused people strategy and future-focused organizational model.
- Develop people plans and solutions to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.
- Lead the people aspects of potential M&A activity, operating model evolution, restructuring, and merging of companies.
- Identify people capability requirements to deliver the strategic agenda and oversee the effective deployment of talent plans.
- Elevate people leadership capabilities by providing advice, support, and coaching to senior leaders on people and talent matters.
- Optimize employee experience and engagement levels, supporting local leaders in people management practices and engagement activities.
- Lead and coordinate strategic People initiatives and governance activities on behalf of the Chief People Officer.
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to the People Relations Partner team.
- Ensure effective risk management, regulatory compliance, governance, and operational discipline across the People agenda.
Requirements
- Significant experience operating at a senior level in a CPO function, ideally within Financial Services.
- Solid knowledge of various people disciplines such as Diversity, Compensation, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Talent Management, Staffing, and Organizational Effectiveness.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to advise on fit-for-purpose people solutions.
- Experience of talent development and enabling People Strategies in a high-performance environment.
- Ability to take a holistic approach to analyze business issues and develop integrated people solutions.
- Ability to bring a fresh perspective and insight, challenging the status quo.
- Ability to be a change catalyst who can successfully manage change that improves organizational performance.
- Strong decision-making capability, comfortable leading in ambiguous, complex, and fast-paced environments.
- Fosters collaborative relationships across functions and business.
- Demonstrable track record of operating both strategically and operationally.
- Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with management at all levels.
- Diplomatic individual with the ability to adapt to, coach, and be effective with diverse leadership styles.
- Positive attitude, motivated, action-oriented, and preference for working as part of a team.
