About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the London ADASS team as they build their staff team and develop strategic ambitions and priorities. Camden Council hosts London ADASS, a professional association for directors of adult social care in London, focused on collaboration, sharing good practice, and promoting high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and collaborate with directors of adult social care, senior leaders, Council officers, and partners to implement the London ADASS programme and priorities.
  • Ensure projects deliver programme outcomes.
  • Establish effective partnership working arrangements with key stakeholders.
  • Foster a spirit and culture of partnership in adult social care across London.
  • Identify issues requiring cross-borough attention and London-level work.
  • Lead a portfolio of projects focusing on commissioning, market management (including learning disabilities and autism), data and performance management, and digital innovation in adult social care.
  • Lead a London-wide programme of activities related to equalities, diversity, and inclusion, embedding coproduction.
  • Represent London ADASS at regional and national meetings.
  • Support and lead change programmes.
  • Analyse data.
  • Act as a flexible and collaborative member of the team.

Requirements

  • Strategic thinker committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Expert knowledge of the adult social care system, including commissioning, market management, and performance.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Significant senior-level experience in adult social care.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and balance competing demands.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in managing and developing people.
