About the Role
The Senior Reliability Assessment and Performance Analysis Engineer develops models of the bulk power system, oversees technical groups, performs simulations, and supports NPCC and ERO work plans.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and validation of models to support NPCC and ERO Enterprise activities.
- Perform steady-state and transient stability studies using commercially available software.
- Collaborate on the performance of energy assessments using commercially available software and the preparation of related narratives.
- Oversee the work of NPCC technical groups addressing emerging reliability issues.
- Present NPCC regional perspectives to ERO initiatives, industry stakeholders, committees, task forces, and working groups.
- Develop relationships with NERC, Regional Entity, and stakeholder personnel to enhance coordination and improve processes.
- Provide guidance and training to other engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent bachelor’s degree in engineering with related training.
- Minimum 5 years of electric power industry experience.
- Proficiency with transmission planning software tools such as Siemens PSS/E, TARA, PowerWorld, GE-PSLF, or equivalent.
- Competent and knowledgeable in bulk transmission planning, power system modeling, and performing system studies.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of management.
- Acute attention to details.
