About the Role
The Virtual Pathway Student Ambassador will create, develop, and implement innovative strategies, experiences, and materials to attract applicants, enhance current student relations, train students to be lifelong recruiters and mentors, increase publicity for the College-Institute, and train alumni on recruitment efforts. This role will enhance engagement, communication, counseling, and contact management skills.
Responsibilities
- Create virtual experiences for prospective students, including initial contact, engagement, and coordination of campus visits.
- Engage and train current students to serve as campus hosts.
- Coordinate and create schedules for prospective students' interactions with staff, faculty, and students.
- Invite and host conversations for prospects and applicants for specific programs.
- Support the Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA) with Open House planning and on-campus interviews.
- Manage reimbursement for students and visitors.
- Report on campus visits, including attendees, activities, and follow-up actions.
- Support and contribute to information sessions and webinars.
- Mail gifts, swag, and care packages on behalf of the ORA office.
- Conduct research and data collection for recruitment strategies and admissions processing.
- Contact prospective students to understand their goals and explain how HUC-JIR can help.
- Explain the admissions process, answer questions, and guide applicants through the process.
- Reach out to future prospective students to offer personal connections and campus invitations.
- Arrange meals, student meetings, and class visits for applicants during interviews.
- Follow up with inquiries at the end of the admissions season.
- Advise on program and campus selection for admitted students.
- Invite admitted students to campus for visits.

Requirements
- Must be an HUC student.
- 2 years minimum of graduate and/or seminary schooling and training.
- Preference for HUC-trained individuals.
- 1+ years in community engagement programming.
- 2 years of active membership in the HUC community.
- Knowledge and experience of the greater Jewish community, locally and beyond.
- Excellent evaluation and record-keeping skills with fine attention to detail.
- Professional and courteous communication skills with administration and applicants.
- Kind, honest, and friendly demeanor.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
- Recruitment experience (academic or sales) is appreciated but not required.

- Up to $300 per pay period
- Up to $4,200 gross pay (October 5, 2026 – April 20, 2027)
