About the Role

SANY’s Syracuse Academy of Science High School is seeking dynamic and creative Science Teachers for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. We offer a supportive environment for both new and experienced teachers.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum.
• Collaborate with staff to determine charter requirements for instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to their content area.
• Utilize analytics and data to drive instruction and promote learning.
• Welcome regular feedback and accountability.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• New York State Certification preferred.
• Experience with diverse student populations or in an urban setting is a plus.
• Prior teaching experience preferred; novice teachers are encouraged to apply.
• Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education.
• Possess a growth mindset, flexibility, and be open to change.
• Be intrinsically motivated, compassionate, and believe that all students can succeed.
• Ability to receive and implement feedback effectively.
• Comfortable with the use of data and analytics to drive instruction and promote learning.
