About the Role
A senior leadership opportunity to shape, lead, and deliver customer-facing businesses across the Windsor Estate and wider Rural portfolio, focusing on enhancing visitor experience, operational effectiveness, and sustainable revenue growth while balancing stewardship, customer experience, and commercial performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the customer strategy across the Windsor Estate.
- Develop distinctive visitor, retail, and hospitality experiences aligned with the estate's character and high service standards.
- Identify and progress opportunities to enhance the customer offer and support long-term revenue growth.
- Manage commercial and operational performance, including P&L, budgets, and capital planning.
- Prepare business cases for new initiatives, investment proposals, and change programs.
- Lead, coach, and develop a capable and engaged team.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Estate Management, Sustainability, Marketing, Development) for integrated delivery.
- Build effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure operations are delivered safely, responsibly, and in line with legislation and The Crown Estate requirements.
- Promote an inclusive, professional, and high-performing culture.
Requirements
- Significant experience providing strategic and operational leadership in a multi-site, customer-facing business (visitor attractions, heritage, destination retail, hospitality, or premium experience-led environments preferred).
- Outstanding commercial and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, P&L, capital planning, people planning, and performance targets.
- Experience shaping and delivering customer strategies, business plans, and change programs.
- Track record of growing revenue through improved customer experience, stronger conversion, new propositions, or new income sources.
- Experience developing premium visitor, retail, or hospitality experiences with high standards of service, presentation, and brand alignment.
- Ability to balance stewardship, customer experience, and commercial performance within a purpose-led organization.
- Proven leadership capability, including coaching, developing, and motivating teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Sound judgment, resilience, and diplomacy for operating in a complex, fast-moving environment.
- Strong analytical and business planning skills.
