About the Role
The Solutions Engineer acts as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams, assessing customer networks, gathering requirements, and designing solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role involves owning the customer journey from qualification through proof of concept to production, requiring strong networking fundamentals, hands-on expertise in SDN and SD-WAN, scripting, DevOps capabilities, and the ability to evaluate emerging technologies for scalable solutions. You will significantly impact the implementation and quality of Quvia's next-generation products in an innovative, fast-paced startup environment. Excellent communication, project management, and creative problem-solving skills are essential to address customer pain points and demonstrate clear ROI.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales to assess customer networks, capture technical requirements and pain points, and convert them into tailored solution designs with clear, measurable business outcomes.
- Design, test, and deploy multi-path traffic orchestration systems across satellite and terrestrial environments using Quvia products and third-party integrations, including setup at edge, cloud, and datacenters/POPs.
- Lead proof of concepts end-to-end, defining success criteria, designing, specifying hardware, installing, configuring, and testing Quvia systems.
- Troubleshoot complex issues with customer, QA, and Engineering teams, owning the handoff from POC to production.
- Utilize scripting and DevOps practices for streamlined solution delivery, including configuration templating, workflow automation, and tooling for demos, POCs, and repeatable deployments.
- Act as a technical advisor to customers, providing guidance on best practices for terrestrial and satellite communication systems and presenting status updates and health metrics.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for customers and internal teams on Quvia products and their value proposition.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (sales, product management, systems, engineering, QA, service delivery) to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all solutions and services.
- Complete successful handoffs to all relevant teams at the end of projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of network engineering experience across terrestrial and/or satellite communications, including multi-link architecture.
- Deep networking fundamentals, including routing and switching, network security, wireless, and datacenter networking.
- Hands-on experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and multi-vendor SD-WAN and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) platforms (e.g., Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud, Cisco, Cradlepoint, Palo Alto).
- Scripting and DevOps experience in a networking context (Python, REST APIs, configuration orchestration, zero-touch provisioning, workflow automation).
- Proven track record of leading customer-facing POCs, deployments, or migrations in large enterprise environments.
- Ability to convert customer network assessments and requirements into business outcomes and articulate value to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of managing virtual infrastructure (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM) and computer hardware/operating systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to lead customer conversations at engineering and executive levels.
- Commercial awareness to identify opportunities for cost reduction, simplified delivery, and new market segments through solution design.
- Project management experience and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Satellite communication (SATCOM) systems knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Experience with cloud-hosted networking and security (e.g., Azure- or AWS-hosted NGFW) is a plus.
