About the Role

Phillips Lytle is seeking to hire a senior attorney with eight or more years of experience to support its national Immigration Practice. The role involves handling complex visa and permanent residency applications for U.S. companies and their foreign national workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complexities of visa and permanent residency applications
  • Manage employment-based green cards
  • Manage employment-based non-immigrant visas
  • Manage H-1Bs, L-1s, O-1s, E-1, E-2, E-3 visas
  • Manage matters arising under the U.S. Mexico-Canada America (USMCA) Free Trade Agreement (TNs)
  • Manage other laws governing ports of entry to the United States
  • Provide advisory and other services
  • Manage client deliverables
  • Prepare foreign nationals for visa and consulate interviews
  • Respond to audits
  • Provide I-9 guidance
  • Deal with federal administrative court matters
  • Resolve border problems
  • Prepare relevant filings
  • Manage client relationships
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and specialized paralegals

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of experience
  • Superior written, oral and analytic abilities
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations and policies
  • Experience handling the complexities of visa and permanent residency applications on behalf of U.S. companies and their foreign national workforce
  • Experience with employment-based green cards
  • Experience with employment-based non-immigrant visas
  • Experience with H-1Bs, L-1s, O-1s, E-1, E-2, E-3 visas
  • Experience with matters arising under the U.S. Mexico-Canada America (USMCA) Free Trade Agreement (TNs)
  • Experience with other laws governing ports of entry to the United States
