About the Role

Phillips Lytle is seeking a senior attorney with eight or more years of experience to join its Immigration Practice Team in Albany. This role supports a national practice, handling complex visa and permanent residency applications for U.S. companies and their foreign national workforce. The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical, written, and oral communication skills, with deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Handle complexities of visa and permanent residency applications
Manage employment-based green cards and non-immigrant visas (H-1Bs, L-1s, O-1s, E-1, E-2, E-3, TNs)
Address matters arising under the U.S. Mexico-Canada America (USMCA) Free Trade Agreement
Provide advisory services
Manage client deliverables
Prepare foreign nationals for visa and consulate interviews
Respond to audits
Provide I-9 guidance
Handle federal administrative court matters
Resolve border problems
Prepare relevant filings
Manage client relationships
Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and specialized paralegals

Requirements

Eight or more years of experience
Superior written, oral, and analytic abilities
Deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and policies
Experience managing client relationships
Experience mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and specialized paralegals
