About the Role
Phillips Lytle is seeking a senior attorney with eight or more years of experience to join its Immigration Practice Team in Buffalo, NY. This role will support the national practice by handling complex visa and permanent residency applications for U.S. companies and their foreign national workforce. The ideal candidate will possess superior analytical abilities, deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, and the capacity to manage client deliverables and provide advisory services.
Responsibilities
- Handle complexities of visa and permanent residency applications
- Manage employment-based green cards
- Manage employment-based non-immigrant visas
- Manage H-1B visas
- Manage L-1 visas
- Manage O-1 visas
- Manage E-1 visas
- Manage E-2 visas
- Manage E-3 visas
- Manage USMCA Free Trade Agreement (TN) matters
- Manage other laws governing ports of entry to the United States
- Provide advisory and other services
- Manage client deliverables
- Prepare foreign nationals for visa and consulate interviews
- Respond to audits
- Provide I-9 guidance
- Handle federal administrative court matters
- Resolve border problems
- Prepare relevant filings
- Manage client relationships
- Mentor junior lawyers
- Supervise junior lawyers
- Mentor specialized paralegals
- Supervise specialized paralegals
Requirements
- Eight or more years of experience
- Superior written, oral and analytic abilities
- Deep knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, regulations and policies
- Experience managing client relationships
