About the Role

We are seeking to employ a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing QS to join and lead the commercial team. For this role, you will ideally possess an energy connections, renewables or power background, however other infrastructure construction is considered such as highways, rail, civil engineering with excellent commercial management skills controlling portfolios of multi-million pound construction contracts. Experience of leading a team of individuals at various stages of their careers, across multiple disciplines is required.

Responsibilities

  • Positive commercial strategisation and administration for our portfolio of projects is essential to ensure the effective delivery of successful results and management of key risks and opportunities.
  • Leadership of a commercial team towards the effective commercial management of a portfolio of projects and frameworks from pre-construction to final account.
  • Ensure the effective administration and management of the projects in line with the IMS, maintaining accurate reports and forecasts.
  • Lead the creation and utilisation of a variety of processes which will ensure proactive contract management and administration, accurate turnover, cost and cash forecasting, change and risk management and periodic financial reporting.
  • Line management and training of direct reports.
  • Representing the wider Commercial Team both in internal and external capacities.

Requirements

  • Proven Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager
  • Proven line management and leadership qualities
  • Formal Quantity surveying qualification ideally degree level
  • RICS membership
  • Experience in Infrastructure construction
  • Energy connections / HV / Renewables experience (advantageous)
  • Strong commercial and contract management skills
  • Experience managing cost control, subcontractors, and reporting on multiple projects
  • Confident in client and project team engagement
