About the Role
Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Amsterdam, New York. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy troubleshooting mechanical issues and ensuring fleet vehicles operate reliably.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
- Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations
Requirements
- 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to own and maintain personal tools and toolbox
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)
