About the Role

As a trading system engineer, you'll work in a computationally intensive role that will allow you to use your strong technical skills to solve problems at the intersection of trading and technology. You will have the chance to work on challenging engineering problems across our trading teams in areas such as trading systems engineering, low-latency C++ strategy development, and high-performance C++ libraries that enable large-scale quantitative research and data processing. You’ll work on the desk side by side with senior developers who understand the nuances of building performant, reliable systems for complex trading strategies. You will begin with a comprehensive education program designed to build a broad understanding of the role trading system engineers play across our trading teams. Once you complete the program, you’ll be placed on a trading team that aligns with your interests and background. This will give you the best preparation possible for a career in trading system engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Work on challenging engineering problems across trading teams.
  • Develop low-latency C++ strategies.
  • Build high-performance C++ libraries for quantitative research and data processing.
  • Collaborate with senior developers on building performant and reliable systems for complex trading strategies.
  • Participate in a comprehensive education program to understand the role of trading system engineers.
  • Be placed on a trading team aligned with interests and background after completing the education program.

Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s student in their final year of study, majoring in a quantitative and/or STEM discipline such as computer science, computer engineering, mathematics or data science.
  • Enjoy building relationships and be comfortable sharing ideas, expressing thoughts, and listening to others.
  • Be ambitious and enjoy setting personal goals and working to achieve them.
  • Possess exceptional quantitative, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Use clear and sound reasoning, and be rational, using numbers and data to find sensible solutions.
  • Participate in coding, mathematics, system design, and behavioral interviews.
