About the Role
The Center for Disability Services is seeking Weekend Warrior Direct Support Professionals (Float) to support residential programs. This role involves assisting individuals with their daily treatment, care, and services to promote independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of staff action plans and complete associated documentation.
- Promote independence, community inclusion, individualization, and productivity.
- Respect personal choice, lifestyles, and dignity while allowing informed risk-taking.
- Be flexible to work at any residential location based on program and staffing needs.
Requirements
- Travel to programs in the Capital Region area is required.
- Must have specialized training: First Aid, CPR, SCIP-R, OPWDD Medication Administration Certification, and CFDS Authorized Driver within 90 days of employment.
- Complete additional program-specific training requirements during the first six months of employment.
- Maintain certifications continuously to remain in the position.
- NYS Driver's License required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of job-related experience preferred, specifically in working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in nursing home or home care settings.
