About the Role

The Lockport Family YMCA has an immediate opening for a housekeeper responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all areas of the facility according to a daily schedule.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes all areas of the facility including restrooms, locker rooms, kitchen/lounges, and sauna/steam room.
• Uses appropriate cleaning equipment and janitorial supplies correctly.
• Reports maintenance or cleaning issues to the supervisor.
• Follows facility protocol to clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
• Performs dry/wet mopping of hard floors and vacuums carpets.
• Washes windows and dusts surfaces.
• Empties trash and recycling containers.
• Completes facility maintenance logs as directed.
• Responds quickly to clean spills and resolves unsafe conditions promptly.
• Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintains the cleanliness of the grounds, including walkways and garbage removal.
• Carries out other assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in housekeeping and/or custodial work.
• Working knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to work well with others.
