About the Role
To assist the Executive Head Chef in the day-to-day preparation, production, and service of food items while undergoing structured training. Maintain and improve hygiene standards within company and legislative policy constraints.
Responsibilities
- Arrive for duty on time in the correct uniform, maintaining personal hygiene and a neat appearance.
- Assist the department in achieving hygiene assessment standards by adhering to hygiene schedules.
- Ensure all food produced meets standard specifications and training guidelines.
- Carry out other duties as designated by the Executive Head Chef within the general scope of the job.
- Know and adhere to the fire/evacuation regulations of the hotel and kitchen department.
- Ensure all health and safety and security policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Attend in-house training and staff meetings as required.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
- Comply with Marriott International Hotels Limited Regional Office policies and procedures.
Requirements
- A passion for cooking is preferred.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
- Pro-active and reliable.
- Able to work alone and within a team.
- Physical fitness required for pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching, and prolonged periods of standing/walking.
- Flexible to work any shift, including weekends, bank holidays, and occasional nights.
- Must maintain high standards of personal hygiene and be clean and well-turned out during working hours.
- Must wear the correct uniform and name badge at all times.
