About the Role

The House Manager/Intake Specialist oversees the direct care of residents, manages the intake process, and coordinates with the security department to ensure the safety of clients residing in the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff, participates in training and evaluation of work performance of staff and volunteers.
  • Participates in group training sessions in first aid and security techniques.
  • Facilitates and coordinates the intake process for all incoming residents in accordance with DHS.
  • Maintains the house log, prepares incident reports, and serves as mediator for client disputes.
  • Conducts weekly unit inspections for ACS and new born 0-12 months.
  • Conducts regular inspections of the buildings, ensuring client safety and compliance with operational procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Responds to emergencies, interfacing with police, fire department, EMS, and other public service entities.
  • Conducts required periodic fire drills and informs staff of safety and building policies and procedures.
  • Records and reports maintenance needs and violations of building and fire codes to the Program Director.
  • Arranges with housekeeping staff for bedding, linens, and personal hygiene needs of consumers.
  • Attends staff meetings as requested.
  • Assists Security guards when needed.
  • Conducts monthly house meetings.
  • Maintains food logs, handles food delivery, and handles meal delivery to clients.
  • Performs other job duties and special projects assigned by management.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures, including those in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information learned through the course of the job.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR.
  • Fire Safety Coordinator certification.
  • Food Handlers Certification.
  • Proficient in computer software programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, CARES, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to climb and ambulate stairs (about 10 flights).
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, stand, lift, finger, grasp, talk, hear, and feel.
  • Ability to use a computer tablet to write reports, notes, and document compliance.
  • Ability to perceive attributes of objects by touching.
  • Required to have close visual acuity for data analysis, computer terminal use, reading, and work inspection.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
