About the Role

The Academic Support Coordinator provides administrative support to five Class Deans and additional support to the Office of Student Care, assisting with academic, personal, and social matters related to student life.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a student affairs information resource, engaging with students to determine needs and provide information.
  • Act as a liaison between students and faculty, parents and deans, and the Division of Student Affairs and other offices.
  • Collaborate with the Registrar’s office and faculty to assist with missing and final grade submittal.
  • Maintain class deans’ calendars, schedule meetings and events, and prepare agendas.
  • Maintain education records in Maxient and Perceptive Content.
  • Process academic extension documents and communicate with students, faculty, and the Registrar’s Office.
  • Greet visitors, respond to correspondence, and refer individuals to appropriate departments.
  • Provide direction and assistance in resolving sensitive problems, issues, and complaints.
  • Research and summarize data for projects.
  • Review, prepare, and process paperwork and electronic requests.
  • Compile, compose, and edit documents including correspondence, policies, and reports.
  • Assist with the Committee on Academic Standing (CAS), including data compilation, tracking, and report preparation.
  • Communicate with faculty to obtain mid-semester student information.
  • Facilitate CAS meetings and generate, send, and document CAS letters.
  • Support special events, projects, and initiatives, including preparing materials and managing logistics.
  • Archive student files.
  • Provide backup coverage for the front desk/reception area.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated administrative, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Sensitivity to issues of confidentiality.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and collaboratively.
  • Accuracy and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software (Maxient, Image Now, Workday).
  • Experience working collaboratively with a diverse community.
  • Successful completion of required reference and/or background checks.
