About the Role
HelloFresh is seeking an action-oriented servant leader to oversee warehouse management system (WMS) Product Design and Software Engineering functions. This role is responsible for the entire software delivery lifecycle for global warehouse fulfillment and inventory control, driving a culture of product and engineering excellence with modern AI-assisted workflows. You will collaborate with operations, automation, procurement, and finance stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions on the Infios's Warehouse Advantage (Körber/Highjump) WMS platform, balancing priorities and resources. This location-flexible position requires flexibility with work hours due to global teams and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction, development oversight, and performance accountability for HelloFresh's deployment of Infios's Warehouse Advantage (Körber/Highjump) WMS platform across all global locations.
- Own WMS layer Integrations to host systems and CDC pipelines (Debezium/kafka) to Snowflake/Databricks.
- Partner/ support as needed the Hosting Architecture team in the optimal sizing and performance of WMS Architecture in AWS.
- Champion and drive adoption of agentic engineering practices across the team, including automated code review, AI-augmented test generation, and intelligent deployment pipelines.
- Own the maturity roadmap for CI/CD pipelines, establishing automated deployment workflows with robust rollback strategies, feature flagging, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Partner with WMS Services and Support leadership to build a world-class QA function, driving adoption of automated regression suites and AI-assisted edge case generation.
- Establish DORA metrics for engineering health reporting for the WMS organization, setting baselines, publishing improvement targets, and using trends to identify bottlenecks.
- Partner with peers and senior leadership on architectural decision-making for WMS platform evolution, integration patterns, and technology transitions.
- Work with department leadership to source and partner with 3rd-party vendors to augment internal engineering capacity and expertise.
- Coach, develop, and retain high-performing engineers, product managers, and team leads, playing an active role in recruiting, onboarding, and career development.
- Own the long term roadmap for product consolidation to a single application release version administered globally.
- Serve on both the Fulfillment Technology and overall Automation & Technology leadership teams, reinforcing HelloFresh DNA values, establishing KPIs, and prioritizing strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of warehouse management system (WMS) software engineering and implementation experience with a tier-one WMS in an RF-based distribution, manufacturing, or e-commerce fulfillment environment.
- 3+ years of direct hands-on experience with Infios's Warehouse Advantage (Körber/Highjump) WMS platform with SQL Server.
- 3+ years managing application integrations via microservices and associated toolsets, including REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and ETL pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience implementing or scaling CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing gates, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices across multi-environment WMS or fulfillment technology stacks.
- Hands-on familiarity with agentic and AI-assisted engineering tools — including automated code review platforms, AI-assisted test generation, and LLM-powered developer productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, CodeRabbit, SonarQube AI, or equivalent) — with a track record of driving meaningful team-wide adoption and measurable impact.
- Experience defining and tracking engineering delivery and quality metrics (DORA metrics or equivalent) and using data to drive process improvement and leadership reporting.
- Experience leading evaluations to refactor or replace legacy systems, including developing and executing technology transition plans with appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience leading a design and product process that scales a digital technology operations ecosystem across volume growth, multiple brands, and new digital properties.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to build and execute innovative digital product strategy while executing tactically against multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, roadmaps, and delivery plans — and to communicate progress and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build leadership support for proactive technology investments, making the business case for engineering quality, automation, and platform modernization.
