About the Role
As an Electrical Technician at Johnson Matthey, a world leader in platinum group metals, you will help tackle global challenges by applying, refining, and recycling metals for a sustainable future. Your work will ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of production equipment, utilities, and site infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical maintenance activities to ensure the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of production equipment, utilities, and site infrastructure.
- Install, test, inspect, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes of breakdowns, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance activities and support continuous equipment reliability improvements.
- Record maintenance activities using SAP CMMS and identify required spare parts for repairs.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance, including adherence to Life Saving Policies and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Completed a recognised electrical maintenance apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
- Hold 18th Edition City & Guilds 2382 certification.
- Experience in electrical isolation, testing, and inspection.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems.
- Experience working within an industrial manufacturing or process environment, ideally in a shift-based role.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, protective devices, and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP.
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and attention to detail.
- Must be a non-smoker and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.
