About the Role

We are seeking an Application Development Project Leader for credit card, mid-tier banking, trust banking, and insurance industry projects. You will be responsible for system construction that solves client business challenges, working as a primary contractor on development tasks.

Responsibilities

• Understand client business challenges and clarify system specifications through discussion.
• Share system specifications with development members and perform or direct design.
• Manage issues from design to testing, and negotiate scope with clients for items difficult to include.
• Evaluate quality based on client or IPA-provided metrics and implement countermeasures for deficiencies.
• Respond to and plan countermeasures for client inquiries during UAT, negotiating scope exclusions while maintaining good client relations.
• Perform or direct developers in production releases.
• Address production issues with immediate temporary measures, followed by root cause analysis and permanent solutions.
• Lead or sub-lead projects of 10-30 person-months scale.

Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience participating in application engineer projects.
• Experience in scratch development.
• On-premises development experience on Windows or Linux.
• Program coding experience or system specification understanding and basic design experience.
• Project management experience as a leader or sub-leader for teams of 3 to 15 people.
• Ability to maintain teamwork and good communication within the team, understanding diverse working styles like remote work and ensuring work is not concentrated on individuals.
• Commitment to providing high-quality services to clients as a development vendor.
• Sufficient Japanese proficiency to write design documents and meeting minutes and communicate smoothly with clients.
