About the Role
King operates games at a massive scale, serving hundreds of millions of players globally. We are seeking a Developer (Python) to design, build, and operate backend services, internal applications, and data-driven platforms that support critical business and product decisions. This role involves working with systems that process large data volumes, run forecasting and analytical workloads, and provide reliable APIs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions, combining backend engineering, distributed systems, cloud-native development, and data-intensive applications. A key aspect will be integrating our platforms with the broader King and Microsoft ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python
- Build scalable and reliable applications that support forecasting, analytics, and decision-making processes
- Develop distributed processing pipelines and asynchronous workloads
- Design and optimize relational OLTP databases, data models, and query performance
- Build and maintain data processing, analytical, and forecasting workflows
- Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications
- Build intuitive interfaces and workflows for technical and non-technical users
- Integrate services with the King and Microsoft ecosystems
- Develop and maintain APIs and connectors for interoperability
- Deploy, monitor, and operate containerized applications in cloud-native environments
- Contribute to technical designs, architectural discussions, and engineering best practices
- Improve system reliability, observability, performance, and operational excellence
- Deliver high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
Requirements
- Strong Python development experience in production environments
- Experience building backend services and APIs
- Understanding of modern web application development
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, and distributed systems
- Experience designing and optimizing relational databases
- Experience building data-intensive applications and processing large datasets
- Experience with background processing, job orchestration, or distributed workloads
- Experience deploying and operating applications in containerized and cloud-native environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automation pipelines
- Strong testing, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- High sense of code quality and the desire to build and maintain robust, reliable software
- Curiosity and adaptability when learning new technologies and domains
