About the Role
As Tree Services Officer, you will support the delivery of Lewisham’s tree management service, helping to preserve and enhance the borough’s tree stock. You will inspect trees, monitor tree management contracts, support project delivery, maintain tree-related data and provide professional advice on operational, insurance, risk and resident enquiries. You will also work closely with contractors, council colleagues, elected members and community stakeholders to ensure the service is safe, responsive and well managed.

Requirements
- Recognised arboriculture qualification
- Strong understanding of urban tree management
- Confidence to monitor contracts
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to provide sound technical advice
- Comfortable using data, mapping systems and reports to support good decision-making
- Experience of working with contractors and partners
- Experience monitoring service standards
- Experience supporting improvement
- Organised
- Able to manage deadlines
- Confident preparing reports, briefings and written responses
- Able to communicate clearly with a wide range of people
- A current driving licence is required
- May be required to respond to tree-related emergencies outside normal working hours
