About the Role

Unity House of Troy is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Human Resources Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department and serve as a resource to all employees. This role requires strong knowledge of HR practices, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations and administration of the Human Resources Department.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Assist with the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to all employees regarding workplace policies, procedures, performance management, employee relations, and other HR-related matters.
  • Promote positive employee relations and foster a workplace culture of respect, inclusion, belonging, and collaboration.
  • Assist with the annual employee benefits open enrollment process and ongoing benefits administration.
  • Support payroll processing and maintenance, including reviewing HR and payroll data for accuracy.
  • Assist with recruitment and staffing activities, including community events and other functions.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a positive and compliant employee experience.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Utilize and maintain HR systems and technology, including ADP and other HR-related platforms.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and other HR-related documentation.
  • Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals and operations of the Human Resources Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred; relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of three years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Working knowledge of federal and New York State employment laws and regulations preferred.
  • Experience with employee relations, HR compliance, training, benefits, payroll, or recruitment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with employees, managers, and the Human Resources team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ADP or another HRIS/payroll system is required.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize modern technology and HR systems.
  • Valid and clean New York State driver's license required.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to career fairs, training locations, and other organizational events as needed.
