About the Role

The University of Law is seeking a qualified solicitor to join the Clinical Legal Education team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer at the Moorgate Campus. This part-time role (0.7 FTE) involves providing tuition across a wide range of legal courses and may include conducting Higher Rights of Audience assessments. The university is particularly interested in candidates with experience in Housing, General Litigation, Welfare Benefits, Family, and Property Litigation.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching and support for learning.
Communicate with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support.
Identify the need for developing content, structure, and assessments within modules.
Contribute to the effective design and review of inclusive learning.
Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular design.
Routinely communicate complex and conceptual ideas to diverse audiences.
Act as a module tutor, academic coach, and provide pastoral support to students.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (Lecturer).
Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards (Lecturer).
Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE (Lecturer).
Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject (Senior Lecturer).
Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) (Senior Lecturer).
Relevant teaching qualification (Senior Lecturer).
Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline.
Professional and credible demeanor.
Must be able to prove the right to work in the UK.

Experience Level

Over 3 years’ post-qualification experience of the Supreme Court of England & Wales or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Significant expertise in the application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessment design, marking and team leadership (Senior Lecturer).

Salary/Compensations

Lecturer £40,500 - £42,500 plus London weighting of £4,300
Senior Lecturer: £49,000 - £54,000 plus London weighting of £4,300
