About the Role
The Commissioning Field Engineer II is responsible for executing field and office assignments, ensuring equipment is designed, installed, and functionally tested to meet client requirements and design intent across various building projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections and prepare reports.
- Perform equipment testing.
- Review submittals and prepare comments.
- Review and update documents and specifications.
- Create and execute commissioning checklists for equipment and systems.
- Collect and tabulate field data using FST testing equipment.
- Prepare and write reports.
- Properly use, maintain, and clean FST test equipment, reporting any damages.
- Assist in executing performance test requirements.
- Manage individual time and expenses.
- Undertake special projects as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% throughout the United States, including overnight and extended project assignments.
- Must be a self-starter capable of working independently or in a team.
- Must possess a strong desire to learn and participate in the company developmental training program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Strong ability to work in a changing environment and adapt to varying working conditions.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds and climb ladders.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Skills
- General knowledge of Refrigeration, HVAC, Steam management and distribution systems, pumps, fans, motors, chillers, boilers, air ventilation balancing systems, BMS systems and VAV.
- Technical writing skills a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
