About the Role
Provide accounting advisory services to clients, consulting on complex technical accounting matters arising from regulatory or strategic business changes. Manage client expectations, lead change efforts, and communicate with stakeholders to deliver substantiated advice.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting advisory services to clients on complex technical accounting matters.
- Manage client expectations and resolve technical and service issues.
- Lead change efforts and deliver high-quality work on time.
- Communicate with client stakeholders, including external auditors, audit committees, and management.
- Identify regulatory and market trends applicable to clients.
- Serve as an active member in the market and build relationships.
- Collaborate within Accounting Advisory Service teams and CFO Advisory practice.
- Supervise 2-5 Senior Associates per engagement.
Requirements
- Three or Four Year Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting/finance/advisory related job titles.
- Experience providing financial statement audits, accounting advisory, or similar transaction advisory consulting services.
- Experience with accounting standards such as US GAAP, and SEC reporting requirements.
- Experience researching, evaluating, applying, and documenting conclusions on complex technical accounting matters.
- Experience interpreting and applying financial statement reporting requirements, including drafting financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- Experience assisting clients with SEC financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with procedures and standards under AICPA and PCAOB frameworks.
- Experience with accounting standards including business combinations, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and intangible asset valuation.
- Up to 30% domestic travel required.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the assigned Grant Thornton Office location for 3 days per week work from office requirement.
