About the Role

Ironsite is seeking an exceptional Founding Account Executive to establish the company's sales strategy from the ground up. As the first dedicated sales hire, you will own the pipeline, close deals, and define effective sales processes in a new market. This role requires building a sales playbook from scratch, partnering directly with the founding team, field team, and major construction companies, with success measured by expanding Ironsite's presence on job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Build the pipeline by researching target contractors, identifying champions, and initiating cold outreach to GCs, self-perform builders, and specialty contractors.
  • Manage end-to-end outbound sales activities including emails, calls, LinkedIn, warm introductions, and in-person meetings.
  • Convert initial conversations into further opportunities by closing deals, opening new doors, or gathering valuable market insights.
  • Own full-cycle sales from initial contact to contract signing, including discovery, tailored demos, stakeholder management, security reviews, procurement, and negotiation.
  • Effectively sell against industry inertia, making the decision to adopt Ironsite's solutions clear for contractors.
  • Manage complex deal cycles involving multiple stakeholders across GC leadership, innovation, procurement, IT, safety, and self-perform executives, with sales cycles potentially lasting from three to twelve months.
  • Define and document successful sales strategies, including Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), messaging, objection handling, deal desk decisions, and pricing.
  • Translate deal outcomes, both wins and losses, into structured learning to refine future sales approaches.
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to ensure alignment between sales efforts and go-to-market strategies.
  • Coordinate closely with Forward Deployed Engineers to ensure successful deal deployments and customer success post-signature.
  • Provide customer intelligence to product, hardware, and AI teams, acting as a key market signal channel.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of quota-carrying enterprise sales experience with a proven record of exceeding targets in complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles.
  • Experience closing six- and seven-figure contracts with enterprise buyers.
  • Demonstrated top performance in previous roles, evidenced by President's Club, leaderboard rankings, or early promotions.
  • Strong bias for action, prioritizing execution over perfect planning.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to generate pipeline independently.
  • High autonomy and sound judgment to make independent decisions and own outcomes.
  • Genuine intellectual honesty in assessing deal viability.
  • Grit to navigate long construction sales cycles, skeptical buyers, and an unproven market.
  • Experience selling into construction, industrial, or field-services buyers is strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling hardware, wearables, or physical products is strongly preferred.
  • Experience as an early sales hire at a startup that scaled from Series A to Series C is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency with construction workflows, including WBS or cost-code structures, schedules, labor productivity, and contractor buying decisions is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English / Spanish) is a plus.
  • Existing network of relationships with senior leaders at ENR top 100 contractors is a plus.
