About the Role

We are seeking a Product Manager to own the product direction for key areas of our global mobile app. This role involves navigating a complex stakeholder landscape, shipping customer-centric features, and working closely with engineers and designers to shape product development at startup pace.

Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap for your area of the mobile app, setting direction and making decisions on what gets built and when.
• Coordinate across Octopus's global markets, balancing local needs with global consistency.
• Work closely with engineers, designers, and data teams to define problems, shape solutions, and ship iteratively.
• Define technical requirements for dependencies on other teams and communicate priority clearly.
• Develop, test, and release features with scalability in mind.
• Scope larger underlying system changes and make pragmatic sequencing decisions.
• Monitor customer journeys and new releases, using data to drive decisions and identify issues.
• Collaborate with local Operations teams to test changes and debug live issues.
• Engage with Marketing to identify trends, issues, or improvements across funnels.
• Work across multiple teams (Marketing, Ops, Credit, Design, country leads) to build shared understanding and drive alignment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent on mobile apps.
• Experience in startups or fast-moving scale-ups with a proven ability to figure things out independently.
• A track record of shipping successful mobile products.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders, teams, and geographies effectively.
• Genuine care for customer experience and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with both front-end and back-end engineers.
• Experience taking ambiguous problems and developing strong solutions.
• Ability to recognize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Skill in managing multiple competing demands without compromising quality.
• Confidence in making quick decisions with incomplete information.
• Ability to tackle large-scale, ambiguous tasks and break them into shippable components.
• Empathetic approach to collaboration.
• A talent for acting as a liaison between cross-functional teams.
